As some of you may or may not have seen, I recently built my second fixed gear. His name is Patterson, and he is a gent. I thought I would share some of the building process with you here, and you can read more about him, his parts, and his planned upgrades, on his own page. go on…
Playing with Wordpress Post Thumbnails
- 11th January, 2010
The second in my tutorial (ish) posts. If I write a third, Ill make it a new category and add it to the main menu. One of the new features of WordPress 2.9 is Post Thumbnails. Basically an image associated with every post and page on your site. Before you go any further I suggest you read Mark Jaquith’s post “New in WordPress 2.9: Post Thumbnail Images“, as I’ll be skipping to the end and telling you how I implemented it on this blog. go on…
2009 – 2010
- 5th January, 2010
Another year? Already. Blimey. I guess its time for that new year blog post. Funnily enough it comes exactly 12 posts after the 08/09 post. One a month ain’t to bad I guess. Though I know for a fact they weren’t spread out as nicely as that. I guess I should have a look at what made this year quite cool, and sometimes a little rubbish. go on…

So, its Finlay here. My new blog is live. Take a look around, then come back here and carry on reading, if you want to that is. Go on, click on those links, I’ll wait here.
Done? Good. What do you think? I admit its a couple of weeks later due to a couple of errors, but never mind. Its here now for all to enjoy. There’s a couple of pages hidden around the site which ain’t in the main menu, see if you can find them. One of them talks about how the site was built and the ideas behind the (minimal) design, so I wont go into that here. go on…

Recently, I had a chance to get creative, and it was awesome. I haven’t done something really creative for a while. In fact the last thing I did that was really creative would of been the first issue of my zine “Floods of Vomit Issue 1″, some 3 years ago. go on…
The 3rd Anual Web Developers Conference and Hangover
- 26th October, 2009
For the second year in a row, I have visited and indeed enjoyed the Web Developers Conference here in Bristol, set up and run by my good friend Alex Older. Now in its 3rd year (I missed the first one for reasons I can’t remember) the conference seems to be getting bigger and better, and getting picked up Smashing Magazine shows your doing something right at least. I thought Id throw together a quick review of the event, and wrap up some thoughts that have been floating around my head for the past 2 days. go on…

Just a quick update to say, more updates will be on the way. I completely failed to do anything to the site over summer, for which I am sorry. You may notice however i tidied up some of the borked pages, and I’ve added a new (though incomplete) footer. But yes, look out for a proper update soon! go on…

Look Mum. I made’d a website, all by myself!
Yeap. That’s right. My new website is now live, as I’m sure you can tell. Its not finished. In fact, its barley even started, but I needed to get the ball rolling before I finally leave Beef and head of for a summer of fun all over the country. go on…
