Disco Liam

Another year? Already. Blimey. I guess its time for that new year blog post. Funnily enough it comes exactly 12 posts after the 08/09 post. One a month ain’t to bad I guess. Though I know for a fact they weren’t spread out as nicely as that. I guess I should have a look at what made this year quite cool, and sometimes a little rubbish.

• + Staying Vegetarian for a whole year

• + Steve and Lorna’s awesome wedding.
• + A loda other stuff I cant remember but I’m sure it was awesome.

Overall more pluses than minuses. I shall say that is a good year and be done with it. I suppose I should have a look at the aims for the previous year and see how I did.

Continue working and learning with the Beef: Done! And loved every minute of it. Thanks again guys. You where all stars.

Travel More: Done! I went to Greece and had a lovely time, and looking forward to going back now that I’ve become a local legend (apparently). I’ve also been to some new places in the UK, namely on the south coast.

Spend more time on Personal Projects: I guess I did this. I managed to launch this blog (twice, just) re-design my uwe homepage, build sites for Mazz, Laura, My Auntie, do some freelance stuff and some other bits and pieces on the way. Not bad.

Go Vegan for a week: Fail. Never mind.

Wright the first issue of “a penny dreadful”: Fail. I planed to do this in summer but it didn’t happen. Oh well.

Cycle more: Done! Though I didn’t manage to get on the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path, I did complete Bristols Biggest Bike Ride, a Whopping 38 miles. And during summer I did my 25 mile route twice, as well as short journeys all around Bristol and north east Hampshire.

Take More Photos: I’m not sure on this one. I took the camera out quite often, so hopefully I did quite well. Ill go for done, but could do better.

With that out of the way, I suppose I should look towards the next year. My aims for 2010:

Get a Degree

Ive kinda cheated at this by starting in 2006. But I will (hopefully) finish it this year. Bout time too.

Do a big bike ride

Ive been thinking about the London to Brighton for some time, so maybe that. Or the other option is Bristol to Fleet. Either way I wana hit the roads and see how I do. If I can raise some money for a charity along the way that would be grand too.

Build Fixie No.2

I broke the last one, the new one has been ordered. Lets get him built, ride him around a lot then maybe do something stupid like enter an ally cat race in Bristol.

Start something cool

This ones a little cryptic, and kinda follows on from the zine. I really miss running Ultimate Sound (my ill fated local music web zine) and I want to do something like that again. I kinda like the idea of setting up a shop just to sell cool stuff. Zines, Books, Bands Cd’s. A distro for my own personal tastes I guess. Who knows. Its an idea, but it might get further than that.
